Frequently asked questions about Fat Kitty Cafe

Fat Kitty Cafe has a huge range of vegetarian and vegan food, located at Dominion Road, Mount Eden, Auckland. We specialize in Pan Asian fusion, as well as vegan bakering (pies, sandwiches and cakes all made on-site).

Our Cuisine

What type of food do you serve?

We serve a variety of Omni and vegan Pan Asian fusion food, bakery, coffees and teas, and zero-alcohol cocktails. Our menu is a refreshing take on breakfast and lunch. A lot of our dishes are smaller and designed to be shared.

Is everything vegan? 

No, we are not a completely vegan establishment. We have meat, eggs and dairy in some of our dishes. Vegan dishes and bakery items are labelled and staff will often check in with you about dietaries when ordering.

What allergies can you NOT cater to?

Soy allergies.

We use soy milk, tofu and soy-based vegan butter in almost all products. 

What meats are Halal on your menu?

Our lamb and beef are Halal-friendly. 

Do you have a kid’s menu?

No, although children often order our Fat Hashbrown (without any toppings) or the Korean Corndogs when dining with us. Our mocktails are also popular with kids dining in.

Where can I park?

There is street parking on Prospect Terrace and Burnley Terrace.

Is the café wheelchair accessible?

Yes, our cafe features double doors, a ramp and a disabled bathroom.

Can I bring a pram?

Yes

Can I bring my dog?

Yes, small dogs are allowed inside

Do you have high chairs for kids?

No sorry, while kids are welcome, we are not especially well set up for them.

What are the peak time hours at the café?

11 am to 1:30 pm

Are you open for dinner?

Yes, on Tuesdays (our late night) we are open until 10 pm for dining in and takeaway. 

About the Cafe

How many people can you sit in your restaurant?

We can seat up to 27 people. We only have a few tables available for bigger groups so it is always advisable to book for bigger groups on weekend.

Is your produce locally sourced?

Yes, where possible.

Do we bake everything onsite?

Yes, we have a large cabinet range with pies, sandwiches and cakes all  made onsite. 

Our bread is brought in from Wild Wheat and our mayo, vegan puff pastry and some of our cheeses are also brought in. The majority of everything here is made from scratch by us.

Can I BYO?

No, we do not have any form of liquor licensing. Our cocktails are zero-alcohol.

Do you deliver?

Yes. You can get delivery through Uber Eats.

Can I order takeaway?

Yes, you can dine-in or takeaway food from the menu and the cabinet.

Do you compost?

Yes, we have a commercial composting partner.

Do you offer catering?

Yes absolutely, please email us or speak to us in-store to organise catering.

No, sorry.
